You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

MMM carpets
Sunday, September 28, 2008
Somebody should bring back the news blog. I doubt it would even be a hard thing to do, since it hasn't been all that active around here for ages.

You may have noticed the titles completely unrelated to the content in my past couple entries. I've never been good with titles, recently it seems I've become even more incompetent with them.

So sorry, this entry's title is so random. I actually did base it off something this time though. There was this commercial on TV and I thought it was amusing because there was a flying van and cloud words that said "MMM Carpets!" It looked like they were trying to get people to eat their floor coverings or something...

I put my application to HPU in the uh... basket thing we have outside for the mailman to pick stuff up from. And I'm currently trying to figure out what my GPA is so I can put it on the St. John's form. (I may or may not regret this later, but I haven't researched these colleges at all and am still going with my 'take whatever accepts me and possibly transfer later' plan)

My transcript from last year says my "University GPA" is 3.1. :S BUT my last report card says my GPA is 3.833... so I've got no idea what's going on at all. (I'm trying to convince myself that a B here is an A+ at -generic highschool- but 3.1? That's like, the worst final GPA I've ever had...

(Then again, why do I care?)

We're going to call the camera place because it's been over a week and they haven't contacted us about my camera. :( He said they'd call in a couple of days...

Okay we're going to Trader Joe's so maybe I'll add to this entry later. Maybe.

When I drove to school/work, I passed by MMM Carpets every day and the signage never ceased to amuse me.

Personally, I think you should do a little more research into finding a school that you'd enjoy. If you're just going to use the "I'll transfer later" approach, you're better off going to community college because it would be so much cheaper to get some coursework done while waiting to figure out where you REALLY want to go.

I know trying to research schools is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, but one quick way to narrow down your choices would be to evaluate what sort of geographical location you want to be in. I don't know--just a little (unsolicited) advice. You might downplay it, but deciding where to continue your education is one of the biggest decisions you're ever going to make. Not just academically, either, but socially.

Four hours will get you pretty far inland. Phoenix is 5.5 hours away from San Diego. Las Vegas is about the same distance. So four hours would be within like 250 miles of the ocean.

ZOMG
White hot chocolate = delicious.

forrealz.

And I had no idea you had to have 20 dollar to cash out. Not that it matters, at first I blogged on here for the money reason, but now I just like NuTang best.

I don't know what type of sound you make when you feel a really nice carpet. I go "Ooooooyeah." I guess some people go, "Mmm."

The newly placed drywalls that I see are boxy and uninviting.

I have a similar policy.
There are some places I might consider going to school that aren't within, say, 50 miles of the coast... but those institutions would definitely have to have something incredibly special. I can't deal with a lack of coastal access.

Would consulting your teachers help in clarifying your GPA confusion?

I hope you get good news when you call them about your camera, it would suck if they tell you that they haven't touched it at all.

The spare mouse is for me, that jerk has his own mouse but doesn't like it because he can't play Dota with it due to some unknown defects.
