You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

I hath drunketh too much soda :(
Sunday, August 3, 2008
I know I need to stay away from the HFC but this grape soda was just calling to me from the fridge and.... I gave in. :(

Dunno if I REALLY needed it... I mean, I was in my parents bathroom and then there was this spider and I screamed and ran out and... got a soda. Somehow that seemed like the best solution.

Second one today. I feel so bad. X|

And now there are no more grape sodas to make me feel happy.

Hanging out with Varsha and Lucy today was fun. I sat on the playground for twenty minutes trying to figure out where everyone was, then I turned around and Lucy was sitting on a bench in the horseshoe arena so I went over and asked how long she'd been waiting. She said ten minutes. Varsha apparently had to eat lunch so she didn't show until a little while afterwards.

We talked, and Lucy showed us some stuff from her trip to the East Coast/Canada/East US Area.

After that we walked to Varsha's mom's place, hung out in her room, looked at her senior portraits, showed Lucy something that shall not be named, and tried to fix her electronic drum set. We failed that last one.

I can't remember why, but we went downstairs. Then we sat on the couch and talked for a long time about stuff and friends and... more stuff. We got a little hungry so we went to Yiassoo and got food. Varsha got a falafel thing, Lucy got a gyro, I got a gigantic spanakopita that was awesome, and we shared some (I can't spell the name) cinnamon balls that were sheer amazingness. Or, as Varsha puts it, "little drops of Heaven."

Also I found out you can write notes on receipts using your fingernails because somehow the paper darkens when you press into it... Or maybe it was just that paper. But I scratched "2.42 OWE LUCY" into it.

Then we walked back to Varsha's mom's place and sat in the gazebo for a while and talked more. Lucy had to get home before it was dark so she got her bike and left. I realized I should probably leave too, so I said goodbye to Varsha around nine-ish and walked home.

I'd say it was a good day. No pictures though, sorry.

the cash register tape is thermal, which, I think makes it easy to write on. You know...if you leave it in your car or something, they turn all black and you can't read them.

Lol. You could have killed the spider or asked someone to do it for you. One time, I was walking out of my room to get a snack at like 1am and saw this huge (actually huge, bigger than maybe 1 1/2 quarters melted together and smooshed down) spider right outside of my parents' room. Luckily, my dad opened the door and caught it. Lol.
