You're unsure if I am a loose end or a strand
that waits for you to mend or understand
A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness."
~ D.H. Lawrence

"Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?"

"Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost."
~ Seneca

"People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect."
~ Daydream Nation

"All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death."
~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes

"The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road."
~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita

"It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend."
~ William Blake

Oh noses, the bottomless pit hath returned!
Wednesday, May 21, 2008

When I was younger I was always hungry, so people would say I had a bottomless pit for a stomach.

Well, I had three pieces of toast, a bowl of pasta, water, honeydew, and a cucumber, and now I'm hungry again. And I just ate those like half an hour ago! :(

Ach.

You have a bottomless pit for a stomach.

I swear things like honeydew and cucumber make me hungrier than I was to begin with.
» adreen on 2008-05-21 01:55:41

I ate too many carrots and now I don't feel good, but you've now put me in the mood for toast.

Dern.

Eh.
I had extra breakfast because I stayed home from school for a while...and now I feel even more sick. Blegh.

By close minded, I mean that all of your arguments so far are based on the fact that this is all made up. Nothing you've said has been based on any sort of fact or logic.

I AM being open minded; you're not giving me anything to be open minded ABOUT. Yeah, a bunch of men could have made up Jesus and/or his acts. Sure, that could be how Christianity REALLY got started. If, of course, it's not just the plain truth. But until you can give me a reason as to why it ISN'T the truth, it doesn't matter how you think it got started.

Give me one good reason why Christianity is wrong. Not one good way it got popular.

If you were born 10000 years ago, you would probably be dead by now on account of your metabolism. Luckily for you, we live in a day and age where you don't have to try and survive without food for too long.
» ranor on 2008-05-21 06:05:20

Why its wrong.
I mean something that you find obviously wrong about it. For example, "If there's no God, where did the universe come from?" A question like that.

Research would be pointless for you AND me. Science can't answer this question. Obviously.

As for the horrible things Christians have done; yeah. I know. But that's not Christianity, that's people. You're completely right about those people: they take something and use it to control people. That's not the whole story, though. There's more for me to say on that, but I doubt you want to hear it and its not the point anyway.

On incest
1) Adam and Eve had many sons and daughters- Genesis 5:4.

2) The law against incest wasn't made up until Mose's time. Abraham married his half sister, and God didn't make a peep. You gotta start somewhere.

3) The thing about emasculation is obviously not a major hinge of the religion. Take it up against the Jews; they made it up.
