I have a suspicion that he likes me, or else he wouldn't keep talking to me. But he keeps telling me he DOESN'T think I'm attractive... which is fine...

He's lying to you
or trying to convince himself. I might think that he was actually aware of what you might think and was trying to reassure you, but I don't think a lot of other guys I know do that.

And I wouldn't do it by telling you you weren't attractive, either.
