A few words
"When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." ~ D.H. Lawrence "Is the meaning of life defined by its duration? Or does life have a purpose so large that it doesn't have to be prolonged at any cost to preserve its meaning?" "Living is not good, but living well. The wise man, therefore, lives as well as he should, not as long as he can... He will always think of life in terms of quality not quantity... Dying early or late is of no relevance, dying well or ill is... even if it is true that while there is life there is hope, life is not to be bought at any cost." ~ Seneca "People will tell you nothing matters, the whole world's about to end soon anyway. Those people are looking at life the wrong way. I mean, things don't need to last forever to be perfect." ~ Daydream Nation "All Bette's stories have happy endings. That's because she knows where to stop. She's realized the real problem with stories-- if you keep them going long enough, they always end in death." ~ The Sandman: Preludes & Nocturnes "The road now stretched across open country, and it occurred to me - not by way of protest, not as a symbol, or anything like that, but merely as a novel experience - that since I had disregarded all laws of humanity, I might as well disregard the rules of traffic. So I crossed to the left side of the highway and checked the feeling, and the feeling was good. It was a pleasant diaphragmal melting, with elements of diffused tactility, all this enhanced by the thought that nothing could be nearer to the elimination of basic physical laws than deliberately driving on the wrong site of the road." ~ Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita "It is easier to forgive an enemy than to forgive a friend." ~ William Blake Think about it Musicalities! Saturday, September 9, 2006 So... today was rather eventful for me. I went to Santana Row with my friend Lena, and we went and bought some junk, looked at some junk, ate some junk... yeah. Good stuff. And after our shopping excursion we went to watch our highschool play football. You know, there's actually an article in the local paper about how pathetic our team is. They don't actually say "this team is never going to win, it sucks" but they somehow lack optimism. The article discusses the new football coach, and how maybe with luck (or a miracle more likely) my school may win... Anyway, decided to watch the game only because it was free (students don't have to pay, awesome no?) and because Lena wanted me to stay (she likes this guy on the football team... or should I say several guys?). But it was freezing cold on the bleachers because we were in the freakin' SHADE. And the wind wasn't exactly helping... Our cheerleaders suck... our team sucks... our football field sucks... (actually we don't even have one... which sucks even more) not much to cheer for. Of course we lost the game. 15 - 0. Terrible isn't it? Not only did the other side win, their audience also got to sit in the sun! Life just isn't fair! I was booing the whole time. I know, I'm so wonderfully supportive. And the cheerleaders were cheering even when it was obvious we weren't going to win. I think we should have boo leaders. Then at least I'd join in and help some. Hehe... Something else I found rather funny... the guys who were really enthusiastic... yelling stuff like "YEAH ANTHONY! HURT SOMEONE!" or "GO! GO! WOO HOO!". I think it would be funny if they shouted "GO KICK 'EM IN THE BALLS AND MAKE IT COUNT!". That would be worth going to a game for. 4 Comments. Lol The s at our school aren't exactly the best either...the football team does decent, but I rarely go to any games unless I'm invited w/ friends or something. It's just not very entertaining, I guess. Anyways, in reply to the comment you left on my site, I don't use theh websites to write my essays...I just use them to collect info that might be handy. » The-Muffin-Man on 2006-09-09 09:38:47 Hahaha! That's what they mean anyway, why not say the truth? =P I have no idea how my school's football team is like...I'm just not interested. Not even the guys can tempt me. I doubt we have a football field since we're in the city not the suburbs. Cheerleading? Okay...a lot of clapping and slapping. Like I said, I even thought of being a cheerleader...I'm not. =D » Silver-dot- on 2006-09-09 10:11:45 I'd love to try out for the cheerleading team at my school but I can't really do anything and the cheearleaders at my school suck. I'm not sure how our football players are but I'm assuming that they suck too because they played my old school last year. » thisdisease on 2006-09-10 02:11:00 hahaha. boo leaders made me laugh pretty hard. cheers, sank » thaitanic on 2006-09-11 08:17:12
